Ingredients

52 individual butter crackers, such as Club

8 tablespoons (1 stick) salted butter

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup sliced almonds

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Arrange the crackers in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet so that the baking sheet is completely covered with a solid layer of crackers. Set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter with the brown sugar and vanilla. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat and boil until it starts to thicken, 1 to 2 minutes. Immediately pour the mixture over the crackers in an even layer. Use an offset spatula to spread the mixture all over the crackers. Bake for 5 minutes. Sprinkle the almonds all over, then let cool completely.
  4. When cool, break apart for a great snack.

I’ve made these several ways.I used cinnamon gram crackers and pecans yum! Then I made it with browned butter and with almond extract omg went from addiction to the need for intervention lol I also did gram crackers vanilla, walnuts when they came out of the oven I put some chocolate chips and a few mini marshmallows I found that if you put the nuts on first then put them in the oven they stick better. Just been changing it up for Xmas gifts , the idea’s are endless have some fun with it. Ree love you thanks!!
