Broccoli Casserole

Broccoli casserole is a traditional side dish served at Thanksgiving. Ree has created a simplified version of the dish that can be made in one pot, complete with creamy sauce and a crunchy topping made with butter crackers.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons salted butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

3 cups broccoli florets

1 small red onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 1/2 cups grated Cheddar

2 cups crushed butter crackers, preferably Club

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Melt the butter and olive oil in a large skillet. Add the broccoli and onion, then cook to soften, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the garlic and cream, then bring to a simmer. Turn off the heat.
  3. Top with the cheese and crackers, then bake until the cheese is melted and the crackers are golden, 12 to 15 minutes.
