Inspired by Chinese hot mustard, this spread has a distinct spicy kick thanks to mustard seeds ground into a fine powder. Serve it with egg rolls, fish, dumplings, stir-fried vegetables or shrimp tempura. Pro tip: Make this right before serving for the full, robust spicy effect.

Directions

  1. Mix together the mustard powder, sugar, garlic powder, salt, white pepper and turmeric in a small bowl until fully combined. Add the hot water and whisk until the dry ingredients have dissolved into a paste. Add the avocado oil, vinegar and shoyu.
