We've love the Instant Pot brand for their iconic pressure cookers and impressive air fryers, and we recently discovered that Instant Brands (the makers of the Instant Pot) released a new product a little outside of their wheelhouse: an electric kettle. The new Instant Pot Zen Electric Kettle is available for purchase on Amazon, and like the other Instant Brands products, it's not a one-trick pony.
The Instant Pot Zen has a "vacuum-insulated double-wall design" that the company claims stays cool to the touch and keeps boiled water hot for up to two hours. The touchscreen interface has a 'Quick Boil' feature designed to bring water to a boil in minutes, and a 'Keep Warm' setting to keep your water at a preferred temperature that you set yourself. Like other modern kettles, the Instant Pot Zen has an automatic shut-off safety feature designed to prevent overboiling and overheating, too. It has a 1.5 liter capacity, which is almost enough water for seven eight-ounce cups of tea or coffee.
If you're a serious tea drinker, you've probably heard that different kinds of tea are meant to be steeped at different temperatures. It's hard to manage this level of precision with a stovetop teapot, which is why many tea drinkers turn to electric kettles instead. The Instant Pot Zen's Precision Temperature Control can be set to boil water at any temperature between 105 and 212 degrees F.
Five-star reviews are already rolling in on Amazon. One writes, "Fabulous electric kettle! I love that it is cool to the touch on the exterior. It's sleek-looking and a great addition to my countertop. We're big Instant Pot fans, so I'm so happy to see the expansion of their product line."
At around $100, this definitely isn't the cheapest kettle on the market, but we're eager to put the kettle to the test to find out if it's really worth the price.
