Oscar Party Ideas: Starry Night

Recreate the famous Hollywood sign (did you know it originally read hollywoodland?) with cupcakes and toothpick letters.

Turn paper napkins into Oscar envelopes with a gold seal, red ribbon and some clever folding: Open the napkin and lay it flat; fold in the top two corners to form a triangle. Fold the bottom edge of the napkin up until it meets the base of the triangle, then fold the top triangle down and seal.

Give glasses of champagne some glitz with star fruit. You don't even need to peel the fruit—just slice and garnish.

Set up a bar where guests can help themselves to jumbo packs of candy, old-fashioned sodas and mini bottles of bubbly before taking their seats on the sofa.
