If you're not planning on drinking it immediately, keep your wine in a cool, dark place, ideally on its side. If you're planning on aging it for more than a year, invest in a wine refrigerator to keep it at the right temperature.

If you open a bottle you can't finish, put the original cork back in and keep it in the fridge -- it's got a shelf life of about four days. Keep red wines in the fridge too, but let them come to room temperature before you drink them. Get a clam-shell stopper for sparkling wine. It'll stay bubbly for at least another day.
